Our goal with missions convention is that you find yourself chasing after the vision for missions that God has given our church family by engaging in the activities listed below. Maybe you will even feel God calling you to a path of vocational missions work.
Please pray about your involvement. Be challenged, inspired and re-energized in your commitment to missions.

Saturday, October 1, 6:00 p.m. > Gym (open to adults and high school students)
Have dinner with Dr. Jim & Beth Blessman to hear how the money raised for this year’s missions convention project will transform thousands of children's lives affected by AIDS/HIV in South Africa. Plus, have a chance to win a missions trip to South Africa.
MEAL WITH A MISSIONARY
October 4,6,7,&8, 6:30 p.m. > These potluck dinners in various homes provide an opportunity to get up close and personal with our missionaries. Please sign up in the lobby.
LADIES’ TEAS
Tuesday, October 4 & Saturday, October 8, 9:30 a.m. > Fellowship Hall
Enjoy specialty coffees, conversations with friends and awesome stories from our female missionaries. The $3 tickets go on sale in the lobby on Sunday, September 18. Peruse the gift card trees in the lobby and make a donation to bless the missionary women who will be sharing at the Teas soon. Table hosts - print the info sheet.
MEN'S CAKE THROWDOWN SILENT AUCTION
Wednesday, October 5, 6:00-6:30 & 7:45-8:15 p.m. > Lobby
They dug into the flour, mastered the mixer, and conquered those cakes. Now its our turn to place a silent bid on a cake baked by one of our pastors and other men in our church family. Grab a slice of cake (don’t worry guys, we won’t cut into yours) and place your final bids following the Wednesday night service to raise money for missions. Guys, get an instruction sheet for making and entering your cake.
THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THING
Wednesday, October 5, 6:30 p.m. > Sanctuary
You will laugh, yell and maybe even be a contestant, all while learning more about missions. We will have arts and crafts stations for children (6:00-6:30 in Fellowship Hall), stories from our missionaries, a chance to win a missions trip to Bolivia and our own spin on Deal or No Deal, Minute to Win It and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?. (Read drawing rules.) All children’s, youth and adult classes will meet in the Sanctuary this evening. Early childhood and nursery classes will meet as usual.
HIKE-A-BIKE-A-TRIKE-A-THON
Saturday, October 8, 10:00 a.m. > Lakeview Park in Urbandale
Children will walk, bike and trike their way to their fund-raising goals for BGMC.
YOUTH BONFIRE (GRADES 6-12)
Saturday, October 8, 6:00 p.m. > Meet at the church and return by 9:15
Get your friends around a bonfire to hear missionaries Joe & Mishael Newell talk about life on the missions field and reaching college students in North Carolina for Christ.
